Side effects of laser hair removal

Excessive growth of  hair at unwanted places are always a problem for both men and women, they keep on spending money and wasting time in removing hair through waxing, shaving, depilatories as well as electrolysis which are painful and expensive too. 

Laser hair removal is also a method to remove excessive amount of unwanted hair from skin. It is the process of removing unwanted hair from skin with the help of laser light that destroys the hair follicle. Laser hair removals have three types; ruby laser which works for very pale skin and is not commonly used. the other on is YAG laser which is used to treat darker skin and the last one is IPL laser which is the most common type of laser to be used and is effective for pale to medium type skin tone.

Laser hair removal can be applied anywhere on the skin such as face, arms, legs, chest, under arms back etc. This removal of hair is very effective but it also have side effects such as:
1.       Normal side effects of laser hair removal include itching, pink skin, redness and swelling around the treatment area or follicles which lasts more than two or three days.
2.       Laser hair removal sometimes causes acne and discoloration.
3.       Laser may cause hyper pigmentation and hypo pigmentation; hyper pigmentation occurs darkening of the skin and hypo pigmentation refers to the lightening of the skin.
4.       It might cause eye injuries when applied near eye, so it is important to cover eyes during laser treatment.
5.       Side effects of laser hair removal also include burning of skin.
6.       It also causes scarring, blistering as well as changing in skin texture in a very rare case.

7.       Laser hair removal is not permanent, re-growth of the  hair removed through this treatment is possible.
