Purple roses primarily stand for enchantment. The giver of the purple rose seeks to convey that he or she has fallen in love with the recipient at the very first sight. A deep magnetism and charm that makes the recipient almost irresistible is what the purple rose seeks to convey.

Grow Purple Roses:

• Place purple roses in an area with full-sun for at least six hours a day with some afternoon shade. This will prevent water from resting on leaves, causing black spots.
• Plant roses in well-drained, loose soil with a pH range of 5.5 to 7.0. Test your soil for pH levels. Add any necessary amendments to the soil to establish the correct pH range. Add 2 to 4 inches of organic matter, such as peat moss, manure or humus, to a depth of 12 inches to provide nutrients for purple roses as well improve drainage problems.
• Ensure that the roses get 12 to 18 inches of water weekly. Prevent water from splashing onto the foliage by watering with a soaker hose around the base of the rose bush.
• Apply a 2- to 4-inch layer of organic mulch, such as shredded bark and pine needles, around the purple rose bush, leaving space around the base of the rose.
• Fertilize with a rose food fertilizer such as 10-10-10. Apply once before roses bloom and again in the middle of their bloom season. Apply 1 cup of fertilizer around the base of the rose bush, without touching the stems, and water it in well.

Ebb Tide Purple Rose

The deep purple old fashion looking rose blooms are incredibly fragrant with the most heavenly rose scent. The foilage is disease free and very attractive. Zones 6-10, height 4 feet to 4 feet wide. 

Rosa Wild Blue Yonder

Rosa Wild Blue Yonder is definitely more purple than blue that's for sure. This rose has the deep purple rose color that everyone wants in a purple rose. It is also very fragrant with a citrus scent and blooms all season with an abundance of rose flowers.It is very disease resistant and was voted a 2006 AARS Champion rose. Zone 5-10, height 4-5 feet. 

Rosa Cardenial De Richelieu

This dark colored purple rose has velvety blooms that keeps on blooming and blooming. The rose bush has very few thorns, its almost thornless,and has handsome dark green foliage  The flowers are very fragrant, they have a strong wonderful rose scent.

This an old Gallica rose from 1840 and as such only blooms once, but the flowering is awesome and long-lasting, so this rose is worth its place in a garden. It is a compact rose bush.

Stop feeding this rose after August 1st. Pruning should be done right after flowering. No pruning in spring, or you will not have any flowers for that summer. Zones 4-8, height 3-4 feet. 

Midnight Blue Rose

They call this rose Midnight Blue, but I would call it Midnight Purple. it's a very deep purple rose that's also very fragrant.

It's a compact shrub rose with a rounded shape that you'll like. The flower clusters are large and bountiful with blooms. it repeat flowers all season long. One of the great dark purple roses for a smaller space. Zones 6-10, height 2.5 - 3 feet. 

Rosa Purple Passion Rose

Rosa Purple Passion is a wonderful purple hybrid tea rose with a dark pink purple color. It's very fragrant and blooms the first year and then repeats all summer.

It's a heat tolerant rose, so if you live where summers are hot, this rose is great choise for your garden.

Hybrid teas look great in borders and make ideal cutting roses. Zones 7-10, height 5 feet.

The mark of creativity and royalty is the colour purple. It is made by combining two primary colours, blue and red. The resulting colour is violet it becomes purple when a little white colour is added to it.

It was one of the elements of prehistoric art. It is also called a mark of cruelty because of it extraction in the ancient times. Lots of tiny snails needed to be killed for this purpose. 

It was made by breaking the shell of a sea snail named spiny dye-murex.

The colour then created was very deep and now known as tyrian purple. These snails were left on the beach to soak until their specific gland was removed.

Then people collected the juice in a place where it was left under the sunlight. It was an amazing procedure because the liquid first turned into white, then mustard, then green, then violet, then red and it became darker if not kept out. 

People took great care while making it and obtained the right tone they needed. The dried blood of poor snails used to dye wool, linen or silk .

Murex 

It was also a representation for spirituality and was worn by various priests especially of the court. The term purple was first found in 4th century in Bible. The tyrian purple was not expensive because of the colour in ancient times where as it had a wonderful luster, richness and resistance to fading. It was very expensive because of its qualities and extraction. 

There were various elements also used to make this hue including Hematite and Manganese. 

Sea urchin and purpura were also used for this propose they belonged to sea as well like murex.
